Scheduled from November 29th through December 4th of 2016, the Audi FIS Birds of Prey Men’s World Cup Alpine Ski Race Championships will be hosted in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Combined with the 1950 World Championships in Aspen, the 2016 event will also signify only the fifth Championships ever held in the United States, all of them in Colorado. The World Championships represent the largest and most impressive collection of ski racing talent in the world, second only to the Olympics.
As the only men’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup stop in the United States, the Birds of Prey has evolved into one of the world’s premier ski events. Beaver Creek Mountain is home to the formidable Birds of Prey racecourse, challenging an international roster of top athletes for one week of racing featuring Men’s Alpine Ski Racing as part of the Ever Bank America’s Winter Opening, Where It Begins.
To host such an event is not only a great honor for our community and our state, but a great opportunity to the rally the nation around the sport of skiing, engage the next generation in the sport and build upon the successes of the past toward greater glory in the future. As Provider of Hyperbaric services to the Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, NexGen is excited to play a part in keeping these athletes at the top of their condition.
